What is civilization? In the dictionary, it is described as: “an advanced state of human society, in which a high level of culture, science, industry, and government has been reached.” What is it to you? My idea of civilization – what separates us from animals and barbarians, is the common feeling of community. We are part of a family, part of a household, part of a neighborhood, part of a county, state, region, and so on and so forth. Our lives move daily inside our little areas of the world. We, the people of the United States stand for morality, for freedom, for liberty.
Yet, how has it come about that hate has erupted in our streets? How is it that you cannot speak your mind anymore without being disgraced, humiliated or verbally abused by someone who doesn’t believe like you. Why is it if I am a Christian, I cannot speak of that because others don’t agree with it? I hear many things all day long that I don’t agree with or believe in, but no one cares that I’m “offended”. But I am the one who is an intolerant right winger! The persecution of Christians is rising as the “tolerance” for all other ways is becoming commonplace and accepted. I will accept you, but you have to accept me too. Why are you so threatened by my belief in God? Is it really that scary to you? I’m not threatened by your belief in trees and the good mother Earth!
Why, oh why are the democrats and republicans up in arms over every little decision? Our current government, on both sides, is so deceptive and ridiculous that no one should be happy! We shouldn’t be debating and fighting, we need to stand as one people, one nation under God, and tell our government that we aren’t going to take it anymore! We need to turn out and vote against these people who are doing us wrong!
We are losing civilization. We are falling victim to the overwhelming push to become dependent on mindless government, we are losing control over our children, we are turning into a Germany, circa 1938. Our lives will be forever changed by the occurrences happening today. Our children’s lives will be forever changed by these things. Will this continue? Will we all become outcasts in our own country, hunted by “The Man”? Is that your idea of the American civilization? Because it is not my idea, it is not my idea of a free country where Liberty stands in statuesque beauty to greet all who aspire to be like you and me.
Let your voice be heard, let freedom ring.
